Hey folks. Missed ya, but I managed to come forth with a new post tonight. Yay! I love combing through the photos taken from the week. I’m like okay, we did do something. The way we do things is so painless, at least compared to what I thought it would be like, that I sometimes feel inadequate, which is quite wrong! Benchmarking is not quite the goal.
Little at work!
Big at work.
We found this cool model at Toys R’ Us a.k.a. Toys For Us. We broke this bad boy out on Halloween. The set is awesome. I like how the organs feel in the hands and how the bones bend. I found myself fiddling with it too.
Mali discovered math tables this week and used the beads to complete them.
We have an Ipad 2 again. I’ve found some awesome Montessori Apps! The one pictured above is a Geography App. It has the Pin Flag game! The App pictured below is a really cool language situation. Love it! The boys like it a lot too.
Wisdom below! One of the many books I’ve read on Montessori and will read again and again. It is required UMA reading as well.
Cleaning up the packaged diet around this camp. At least we think we are

What a busy week. This week was the start of National Novel Writing Month. The goal is a 50,000 word novel in a month. I’ve always wanted to be a novelist, so I’m seizing the day and going for it. As we speak, I have a little over 10,000 words. I’m shooting for 12,000 for the week. My oldest asks me, constantly, if I’m finished writing my novel yet. He also asked me if I can write him a novel about sharks.
Also, I’ve just started the United Montessori Association certification program. I have about a week to finish reading the Secret of Childhood (due to a bit of procrastination) and I just started. I’ve got a lot on my plate. But the kids are thriving.
They seem really happy, which is most important to me. We’ve thrown in a few new things into the mix like attending Play Group and the oldest started a kids engineering this past Tuesday. In the engineering course, the kids are exposed to laws of physics and they build things, which is pretty cool. While Biggie is in class me and Little Bit get to play at the park.
We also upgraded our Daniel and The Lion’s Den Godly Play basket. I found this Playmobil King set and thought, darn, where was this when I needed it. The basket has been rejuvenated and the kids usually go after it at least once a day. I really like the Playmobil sets because the boys are quite into them.
