The kids were busy bees today. I’ve been in overdrive lately putting together some new activities. Below are some of our new work trays and activities…
(Above) I spy letter jar with cards and stickers. They can mark off the cards with stickers as they spy letters in the jar. I took letter beads and immersed them in a jar o’ grits 
. The cards came from childcareland.com along with the idea for the activity. You can find it under “alphabet discovery bottle”.
I took these wooden figures from a German board game and downloaded the flag sorting mat from childcareland.com. I chopped off the heading of the mat and laminated it for tailored use.
We used the tray above to make name bracelets.
This tray calls for sticking the tickets into the slot of the piggy bank. Good for developing that pincer grasp.

Clipping paper clips- a transfer activity. Very good for developing the pincer grasp.
Counting exercise I made from one of the box type activity centers. I basically took the box apart and used it side to make individual activities. I covered the hodgepodge base with felt and used a t-shirt fabric marker to write the numbers on.

They seem really happy, which is most important to me. We’ve thrown in a few new things into the mix like attending Play Group and the oldest started a kids engineering this past Tuesday. In the engineering course, the kids are exposed to laws of physics and they build things, which is pretty cool. While Biggie is in class me and Little Bit get to play at the park.
